THE TALE OF JENNAVIE + ETHAN
One wedding that always comes to mind as I go about my craft is the wedding of Jennavie and Ethan. They weren’t just awesome clients and people to work with. Their vibe and energy just really resonated with me in the way they love each other and their families. It all started when Jennavie hit me up on my email and requested for a family photo shoot since her fiance, Ethan, was leaving for the military. That session kicked off without a hitch as we had so much fun doing new things and running in the big open field of a park. Not only did we take some lovely photos, but I got to know them more and asked how did they hear about me. Jen told me that she actually works with my wife (fiance at the time) and I was recommended by her; thanks hon!
After the session wrapped up, she said that she loved working with us and wanted to hire me for her wedding next year in 2022. Of course, I was ecstatic and excited to work with them again not just for a family shoot, but for one of the most special events in their life!
Fast forward to June of 2022, I show up in their hotel room and the energy was so vibin’. The girls were having fun and looked like they weren’t even nervous at all! To my surprise, Jen had really planned ahead more than what anyone might do. When I started to offload my gear, she told me that she already set aside ALL her accessories on a table ready for me to shoot.
That was the moment that set this wedding in stone for me in my head. Usually when I shoot prep, I would have to take some time to find the accessories, the shoes, the veil to shoot and she had it all ready for me then and there. She saved me 30 extra minutes of shooting and I was able to get the detail shots done in like 10 minutes. She told me later that she saw a tiktok on advice for soon-to-be brides and even to this day, that is what I always let my brides know whenever we start the wedding shoot details. Thanks Jen! You really made an everlasting memory for Studio Taiyo and you rock!
There’s one more story I want to share about this awesome duo. We wanted to have a bride and groom couple session after the ceremony, but time was not on our side. Luckily, they were totally open to our After Story sessions where we basically have a post-wedding engagement session. The following week, we met up at Fort Agueda park and started shooting some of the most dreamiest and intimate couple photos I have ever taken in my career. The flowers, the weather, them, everything was just perfect. Best part is, we didn’t have to worry about time management now! If you’re ever thinking of postponing your bride and groom couple session, this is your sign that you should go for it.
